5.0 Update

Bug Fixes:

  • Corrected an error in drawing Q300 logged data charts.

Back to top of page.

4.9 Update

Features/Additions:

  • Data Editing-Improved Reporting:
When graphed points are selected, the calculated values for both the selected and non-selected points are displayed, with the logged data graph, all on one page, with print capabilities.

Bug Fixes:

  • Edge Dosimeter
Vendor Change of IR Device Issue:
The infra-red device used for instrument communications was changed by the vendor, resulting in a code requirement modification both in the instrument firmware and for QSP-II, to ensure reliable communications with the firmware update program.
  • Data Combining and Graphing
When combining samples/division, there were occasions where the resultant graph would only show dots, and not the lines connecting them. This has been corrected.
LMax displayed logged values as averaged, instead of the max value of the combined collection. This has been corrected.
  • "What If" Panel
On occasion, the selector control (up/down arrow) for selecting time would sometimes be off by 12 hours. For example, rolling back and forth to 1:00 P.M. could result in a projection time of 1 hour instead of 13. This has been corrected.
  • Panel Template Names
Certain special characters, such as "&" in names of exported or imported templates would result in a failure to read the template. This has been corrected.
  • Criteria Curves - Title Obscured
The title of the criteria curves is obscured by the border of the graph at the top. This has been corrected.

Back to top of page.

4.6 Update

Features/Additions:

IAQ:
PID measurements now include units in volume; mg or ug per cubic meter, which is required for compliance with the LEED building initiatives.

Korean Language Translation:
QSP-II has now been translated into Korean.

Edge-Data Combining:
Data combining is now supported for Edge dosimeter.

Charting Logged Data at Session Level:
Logged data from the child studies of noise or sound sessions are now available as one contiguous logged data chart at the session level.

Data Editing Table:
In the past, if a value in a logged data graph was edited, it was flagged as only being edited. It now shows the actual dB value.

Bug Fixes :

Dosimeters:

  • Edge, Q400/500:
Depending on your system language setting, if you had 2 consecutive Auto-On events set, there were some time selections that would not be sent to the instrument correctly.
  • Q300 :
Files imported from the previous version of QSP into QSP-II would show both Fast and Slow Max data, when in reality only one was present.
  • Edge-Print Formatting of Cal Data:
Some date fields (ex. 12-31-2009) would extend over to the “deviation” column and obscure the view of the deviation value.

SoundPro SE/DL :
The spectral table would show up in a panel, but not print properly.

Chart Attributes & Panel Templates:
Line widths and Y axis scaling are now retained in chart templates.

Misc:

  • When adding calibrator information to a panel, the selection list of calibrators sometimes included other, non-calibrator devices.
  • CSV (Comma Separated Value) files, for some cultures, would not export in a recognizable format. Current culture settings are now used.

Back to top of page.

4.4 Update

Features/Additions:

EVM

  • Added Auto-On Capability

Bug Fixes:

Heat Stress

  • Logging fix for data logging greater than 3 months.

Back to top of page.

4.3 Update

Features/Additions:

General

  • QSP-II has been translated for Simplified Chinese.
  • Regarding noise dosimeters: There is a user selectable option which allows average SPL values to read as “LEQ” when the exchange rate is 3 dB and thresholds are ON. In the past ,this would always be displayed as “Lavg”. Stated another way, if the exchange rate is 3dB, and the user has selected this option, then the average SPL value will always be referred to as "LEQ". To enable this, from the main menu, select "Options->Setup->SPL Averaging Display".

Edge Dosimeters

  • Support for new, revised Edge eg-5 firmware platform.
Bug Fixes:

Heat Stress

  • For the “Stay Time Data” panel, the last column was missing. This column varied depending on whether the calculation was based on Navy(PHEL), ACGIH, Marine, EPRI or ISO. This column has now been added.

Back to top of page.

4.2 Update

Features/Additions:

Edge Dosimeters

  • Modified to recognize new EG-5 platform to ensure correct future firmware upgrades.
Bug Fixes:

Q-Series Dosimeters:

  • Occasionally a Q series Dosimeter file that was imported from QSP would have invalid dates and cause an exception in QSP-II.

EVM

  • For an EVM 4, the configuration –> security tab values were sometimes incorrect, and logged data table values for dew point were displayed at 1/10th actual value. The data in the database is correct, it was just displayed incorrectly.

Back to top of page.

4.1 Update

NoisePro Dosimeters

  • UL Times were incorrect at the study level for sessions with more than 1 study.
  • The Auto-Run #1 checkbox status was not retained when the setup was saved in QSP-II.

Q-Series Dosimeters

  • If a Q-Series dosimeter was downloaded in original QSP (NOT QSP-II), and if there was no serial number in the unit, then when this data file is imported into QSP-II, an error would occur. This has resulted in code being added so that the user can insert the serial number. Also, if the user is downloading into QSP-II, valid serial number checks are performed.

Acoustic Panels (NoisePro, Q-Series Dosimeters)

  • If you had created a template which used a “What If” panel, and within the panel the dosimeter number was 2 or greater, the next time you would load the panel, the calculator would revert back to D1

VI-400

  • Occasionally an error would occur when QSP-II would attempt to download catalog files from the instrument.

Back to top of page.

4.0 Update

Features/Additions:

Feature Additions:

Edge Support

  • This is the first revision of QSP-II to provide support for the new Edge dosimeters.

Driver Installation

  • QSP-II drivers have been improved and should install without associated warnings seen in the past.

Bug Fixes:

SPro SE/DL

  • If an overload condition occurred during a logging interval, the corresponding logged data would not have been saved. This has been corrected.
  • Calibrations and calibration verifications were restricted to session panels and not study panels. They are now available in both sessions and studies.
  • When combining studies, some measurement values did not appear in panels. This has been corrected.
  • Location and User Name fields had missing data on import.
  • Criteria Curves would default to a known curve when displaying data. They now default to the curve that the instrument was set to at the time.
  • Time stamps for logged data would sometimes start at the study start time and not the start time plus one logged interval. This has been corrected.
  • Model Number correction. Model numbers used to be identified by the serial number of the unit. This has been changed and is now directly supplied from the instrument data and NOT inferred by the serial number.
  • Occasionally in the past the SPro SE/DL could produce a zero byte file. This would cause QSP-II to crash. This has been corrected both with QSP-II and at the instrument level.

Q Series Dosimeters

  • Stat tables were not appropriately associated with a response setting. This has been corrected.
  • Q300 logged data “Samples Per Division” function was not enabled. This has been corrected.

Noise Pro’s

  • Occasionally the NoisePro dosimeter can produce a -1 value to indicate an error or non-existing datapoint in the instrument. This would be stored in QSP-II as a very large number. This has been corrected.

General

  • For some non-U.S. country settings, certain 2 digit date formats were not supported. This has been corrected.
Back to top of page.

3.2 Update

New Features:

SoundPro SE and DL

  • Speech Intelligibility functionality has been added to the Setup menu in QSPII. If the option is enabled on the meter, the user can program the setup under the Options tab as indicated below in the diagram.
  • Criterion Curves functionality has been added to Setup menu in QSPII. (The diagram above illustrates the curves tab.)
  • Single-Octave Audiometric Background curves for ANSI and OSHA support has been added to Setup menu in QSP II. (This can be setup via the Curves tab as illustrated above.)
  • Support for the newer firmware (12D) has been implemented. QSP-II now provides support for STI-PA, Sound and Noise Curves, and a new file format which improves instrument stability.
  • Triggering on the rev 12D SoundPro SE/DL has been greatly enhanced. Accordingly, QSP-II has been modified to support these enhancements.

Bug Fixes:

SoundPro SE and DL

  • Improvements have been made to correct lockups between the instrument and QSP-II, when transferring setup configurations.
  • When viewing your measurement results in QSPII panels, Exceedance table values were sometimes slightly off from the correctly associated percentage. This has been corrected.
  • Downloads of data could fail if the path (saved from a previous download) no longer exists. This condition has been corrected.
  • When viewing the General Data Panel in QSPII, discrete LN values did not show up (values could still be obtained in the exceedance data table, though). This has been corrected.

NoisePro

  • Peak Weighting values were shown incorrectly in the General Data Panel. Values stored in the database are correct, but were not displaying properly on the display. It has been corrected.
  • Occasionally the serial number input list on the Retrieve Data screen would have an illegal character in the serial number. Then an attempt to download would create an exception and the program would terminate. This has been corrected.

Back to top of page.

3.1 Update

Bug Fixes:

SPro SE/DL – Auto-On Setup:

  • Regarding the Auto-On form of the setup dialog: Checkboxes indicating the state of the Auto-On feature did not always reflect the current state of the setup. This has been corrected.

NoisePro:

  • Potential Logging Rate Setup Error:
On rare occasions, it was possible for QSP-II to fail to set up an instrument because a base model NoisePro or NoisePro DL would have an incompatible log rate value reported to QSP-II. This has been corrected.
  • Disabling Of Dosimeters:
Previous versions of QSP-II would allow a user to disable ALL internal dosimeters if so selected by the user. This invalid configuration is no longer is allowed.
  • Sessions Stored Greater Than 9:
Downloads to QSP-II would fail if there were more than 9 sessions stored on a NoisePro-DLX. This has been corrected.
  • Calculation Errors:
If a session had MORE than 1 study, the following values for the study summary measurements could be incorrect: Leq/Lavg, TWA[8], DOSE[8]. Values NOT affected were TWA, DOSE and SEL.
  • Max/Min/Peak Times:
Incorrect time stamps were displayed at the study level IF more than one study had taken place in the correlating session. This has been corrected.
  • Session Stop Times:
In certain instances, the Session Stop Time was not properly calculated. This has been corrected.
  • Auto-On Functionality:
Certain settings in certain modes sometimes resulted in the dosimeter not turning on to commence a study. This has been corrected.

Heat Stress:

Wind Speed:

  • Logged data values were not displayed. This has been corrected.
  • Max wind speed did not appear in the General Data Panel. This has been added.

Logged Data :

  • Logged data start times incorrectly would start at exactly the start of the study. The actual first logged data point should be after the first logged interval elapses. This has been corrected.
  • Time stamp intervals were incorrect in the logged data tables and logged data charts. This has been corrected.
  • Some values were off by 10 or 100 (Humidex, humidity). These have been corrected

Summary Data:

  • Humidity and Humidex/Heat Index values did not appear. This has been corrected.

Back to top of page.

2.9 Update

Feature Additions:

  • Run Time Measurement Added
For both the Session and Study, the “Run Time” value is now available.
  • NoisePro Setup
Before, only a generic setup dialog was used to setup all types of NoisePros.  Now the setup dialog is specific to the model being programmed.

  • Q300/Q400/Q500 Support
Full serial port (RS-232) support (downloading of sessions, setup, etc.) for interfacing with these instruments has been added.
  • Vibration Calculator Upgrade
The RMS and VDV values for Whole Body calculations are now on the same panel.

Exposure “Run Time” is now shown.

Max RMS and VDV values are shown for the dominant axis.

Default exposure limits are shown for the European Standard.

    K factors are shown.

  • Automatic Archiving of Downloaded Data
This feature automatically creates a downloaded file external to the QSP-II database, making file exchanges between computers easier .  These files also serve as a backup in case of a database failure. This is available for the SoundPro SE/DL, SoundPro DLX, NoisePro dosimeters and the Q300/Q400/Q500 dosimeters.
  • More Localizations Done
More user interface components have now been translated into local languages.

Bug Fixes:

  • Combine Data Node Orphaned
Occasionally it was possible to not be able to delete a “Combined Data” node, even if dropped into the garbage can and the can was emptied.  This has been corrected.

  • SPro SE/DL - Logged Data:  Incorrect Time Stamps.
In certain instances, the time associated with logged data points was inconsistent with the study time.  This has been corrected.

  • Print Formatting Correction:
Calibration Data for noise dosimeters would sometimes not format correctly, depending on where in the report the data occurred.  This has been corrected.

  • NoisePro Auto On:
Previously, it was possible to send erroneous Auto-On data to the instrument.  This has been corrected.

  • HavPro :
Sometimes the HavPro instrument would store invalid dates, which QSP-II would reject.  This would stop the download for that session.  QSP-II will now substitute a date of 1-1-2000 and then continue on to download the session.

The “Clear Memory” function would sometimes not indicate that the instrument data was, in fact, cleared.  This has been corrected.

This instrument only allows a limited number of data logging records (240).  Time stamps on data would be incorrect if this number was exceeded.  The time stamps are now correct.

  • VI-400:
L1 through L10 summary measurements were too low (by a factor of 10).  This has been corrected.

Regarding Setup information for SLM mode and logged items:  When using multiple profiles, the information containing what measurements to log would not be correctly sent to the instrument.  This has been corrected.

Back to top of page.

2.8 Update

Feature Additions:

  • Heat Stress Applet Release
QSP-II now supports the QT-34, 36 Area Heat Stress monitors.  Previous files from QSP that stored data for these instruments can be imported and converted.
  • Database Size Warning
The database that holds all the information that QSP-II uses will begin to slow down dramatically at 1.5 GB.  Users are informed that they must archive off data at this time.
  • Faster Data Deletion, Exporting and Importing
For customers that log many megabytes of data, exporting, importing and deleting data can take long periods of time.  Some optimizations have been added to improve this process, and more user interface components added to show task progress.
  • Sample Combining
For acoustic logged data, logged data samples can now be combined to condense graph and logged data tables.  For example, if a test was logged at 1 second intervals and the customer would like to see the data condensed to 1 minute intervals, this is easily achieved.
  • Instrument Inventory Safeguard
Some users would accidentally add instrument models to the database incorrectly .  QSP-2 now has more safeguards to protect the user from doing this.
  • Web Service For Tech Support
When a customer gets an error, the error box allows them to directly send the error data to Quest technical support.  They do not have to take a screen snapshot, etc.  A small form is provided to enter in additional information.
  • Exporting of data (nodes) to network drives is now supported .
The MicroSoft database that QSP-II uses does not inherently allow database interaction when the associated files do not exist on a local drive.  Code has been added to get around this limitation.

Bug Fixes:

  • Acoustic “What If” calculator
Imports from ndat files generated from QSP would sometimes produce errors in the “What If” calculator.  This has been corrected.
  • Foreign Keyboard Setting Error
Some acoustic instruments had an issue with calibration import data when no logged data was present. There was a day/month transpose error in a SQL string discovered when not using a U.S. keyboard.
  • Vibration
VI-400 Applet Exposure calculator showed units in m/s2, when it should have been m/s (1.75)

Back to top of page.

2.7 Update

Feature Additions:

HavPro :  There is now full support for the HavPro Vibration meter (localization to follow in a future release).

  • SoundPro SE-DL : Localizations are now complete.
  • NoisePro : Localizations are now complete.
  • VI-400 :  Basic Method/VDV Method calculations for Vibration are now separated into distinct panels.  Also, exposure time calculations are now provided.

Bug Fixes:

  • VI-400 :  Timeout Issues:  If the VI-400 had LOTS of sessions, QSP-II would timeout (after 10 seconds) waiting for the file list from the VI-400 to come across.  The timeout has been increased to 30 seconds.
  • NoisePro:    If you attempted to download a session that had previously been downloaded, QSP-II would NOT retrieve this previously downloaded session or any other sessions in the instrument.  An error message would appear that stated “Not All Sessions Were Downloaded”.  This has been corrected such that if the session previously exists, it is skipped (with a message indicating so) and the remaining sessions are downloaded.  NOTE:  If you have an updated session within an instrument (such as in a non-DLX NoisePro),  you will first need to manually delete the current session that exists in QSP-II .
  • Line Chart :
Charting of discontiguous data:  When using thresholds, sometimes logged data would not be graphed correctly if logging was discontiguous due to the SPL being below the threshold.  This has been fixed.

Regarding logged data graphs, the “Edit Data” function for editing of logged data had 2 issues:
    1. It was enabled (and thus would crash) for use in the VI-400.  It has now been disabled.
    2. There were selection and calculation errors that have been fixed.

Back to top of page.

V2.6 Update

The following has been performed or added:

Feature Additions:

  • Data Combining has been repaired and is now enabled. In the previous release we had disabled the data combining feature because of a bug in the VI-400 code. This feature had been demonstrated at the dealer presentations in May. The bug has now been corrected.
  • Calibration Data is now handled differently, making it easier to enter and track calibration data associated with a session. Calibration information also now has it's own panel, and is not part of the "Information" panel.
  • Import Of QSP Instrument Lists. In QSP (original), you could create an instrument list for tracking certifications, etc. This list can now be imported into QSP-II's database directly. (Go to Tools->Import->QSP Data Files. Select "Choose Files" and then set file type to "*.usr")
  • Template Importing:
We now have a mechanism such that we can create and e-mail customized panel templates for customers with special printout needs.

Bug Fixes:

  • Calibration Cert Dates:
If a computer's "Regional Setting" was in a language that describes a date in the format of DD-MM-YYYY, instead of MM-DD-YYYY, the calibration certification date would either produce an error (if the 13th or later in the month) or store the date incorrectly. This has been corrected.
  • SoundPro SE/DL Logging Intervals:
If the logging interval for the SoundPro SE/DL was set to be greater than 1 minute, logged data would be saved incorrectly. This has been fixed.
  • SoundPro SE/DL LN Logged Values:
For firmware releases previous to R11M, logged LN values were stored correctly but displayed incorrectly. QSP-II has been modified to handle this.
  • SoundPro SE/DL Date-Time:
The latest version of this instrument (R11M) requires this revision of QSP-II to set the date and time correctly.
  • QSP-Noise File Import:
Importing of files from QSP would result in an extra record inserted into the database. This would cause the viewing of a layout to not be rendered (you'll get 4 small, unreadable panels) if the default template was used AND if the default template had a "What If" calculator.
